چکیده
In this study, fuzzy expert system (FES) was designed by using Matlab software for determination of performance and emission characteristics of a gasoline engine which is Briggs and Stratton Vanguard trademark, a cylinder, cylinder volume 182 cm. In the designed FES, intake valve opening advance (advance-) and engine speed (nd/d) were determined as input parameters whereas torque (Me-Nm), power (Pe-kW), specific fuel consumption (beg/kWh) and hydrocarbon (HCppm) emissions were determined as output parameters with the help of an expert. When obtained results from FES are compared with experimental results, FES results are close to 99% level of of experimental results. As a result, it has been found out that FES can be used to predict of performance and emission parameters of a gasoline engine, and it can eliminate a lot of disadvantages that exist.

The Effects of Ethanol–gasoline Blend on Performance and Exhaust Emission Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engines
The effects of unleaded gasoline and unleaded gasoline–ethanol blends on engine performance and pollutant emissions were investigated experimentally in a single cylinder, four-stroke spark-ignition engine with variable engine speeds (2600–3500 rpm). Four different blends on a volume basis were applied. These are E0 (0% ethanol + 100% unleaded gasoline), E3 (3% ethanol + 97% unleaded gasoline), ...
